Close to 25,000 Lost Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the area, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Homeowners reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing power throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams working to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 emergency reports across the state, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

- The Werribee area - experienced considerable destruction
- Hoppers Crossing area - numerous assistance requests
- Wyndham area - nearly 180 calls for assistance
At one point on Sunday, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.

Moist weather were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both areas.
Medical Alert
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to significant health impacts in the region.
